[vc_row][vc_column][dt_fancy_title title=”ThUNDDAR+IGT Networks Speed Dating Event” title_align=”left” title_size=”h4″ title_color=”accent” separator_style=”disabled”][vc_column_text]Deadline: September 24th 2018
We are holding a joint event on the 2nd of October 2018 to encourage novel collaboration nationally across both Networks.
The format of the event will be a cross between a sandpit/speed-dating session. We will bring together people to inspire creative thinking to solve existing problems. Participants will not need prior knowledge of the problem area to participate, but must demonstrate an enthusiasm for working at the interface between disciplines. It will be an excellent opportunity to identify unique collaborative projects in multidisciplinary groups formed of clinicians, engineers and basic scientists.
The half-day event will focus on how engineering and physical sciences (EPS) innovation can help improve patient care and will begin with presentations by clinicians. Each clinician will describe one critical clinical challenge they are facing within their field. Each presentation will give an overview of current treatments and the limitations in current state-of-the-art technology which, if improved, could lead to better patient care.
There will be the opportunity for up to 3 groups to be awarded up to £50k for a project over 6 months which will contribute toward RA Salary and travel/subsistence.
