ThUNNDAR Network is Go!

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]We would like to announce that our recently funded EPSRC Network Plus started officially on September 1st, and we have already held a very successful ‘Sandpit’ meeting in which we discussed the challenges ahead. A summary of this meeting will appear on here soon.

Now that we are up and running, it is time for you all to get involved.  Please read on to discover opportunities and actions for you all.

Pilot Funding

We have, within the grant, some money available to fund collaborative pilot studies.  Up to £50k (but only funded at 80%, your institution will need to show they have contributed 20%) is under offer.  You will need to be able to show that this is a collaborative study, and that you have plans to use this pilot study to apply for further funding if successful.

Please contact ThUNDDAR (saunders@icr.ac.uk) if you would like further information.  The deadline for this round of applications is November 30th.  Please provide a description of the project covering no more than 2 sides of A4. More information can be found here.

THUGs Meeting

Thursday, December 8th, York

ThuNDDAR will take over the running of the already established THUGs (Therapy Ultrasound Group) meetings.  We will hold a satellite meeting in York at the time of the BMUS Annual meeting (https://www.bmus.org/ultrasound-2016).  Please register on line for this meeting, and send us your abstract by November 11th, so that it can be included in the BMUS programme book.  That way, we may increase our audience.  Please fill in this form as well as registering on the BMUS website.

Therapy Ultrasound Winter School

Les Houches, France March 26th – 31st 2017

This bi-annual School will be run again in 2017.  Suitable for post-graduate students and newcomers to the field, this weeklong event is designed as an introduction to the wide ranging field of ultrasound therapy, and is accessible to students of any discipline.  For further information about the School, and student sponsorship opportunities, contact Gail ter Haar (gail.terhaar@icr.ac.uk).[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
