Professor Eleanor Stride

Biography

Eleanor Stride is a Professor of Engineering Science at the University of Oxford.

Her research focuses on the biophysical mechanisms of drug delivery, in particular the effects of mechanical stimuli such as ultrasound.

She has over 110 journal publications and an H-index of 31. In the past 5 years her work has been recognized nationally and internationally with a Philip Leverhulme prize, a SET for Britain Engineering medal, an EPSRC-Royal Society Interface prize, the Acoustical Society of America Bruce Lindsay award and the IET AF Harvey Engineering Research Prize. She currently holds an EPSRC Challenging Engineering award (EP/I021795) and has been PI on 5 other RCUK grants in this area (EP/L025825, EP/E012434, EP/F031122, EP/E029310 and EP/G031754) with a cumulative value >£4.5M. Her work under these grants has led to the development of new patented technologies for particle fabrication (UK Patent Nos. 0706175, 1102148) as well as novel agents for combined imaging and drug delivery (UK Patent No. 0811856) and a spin out company, AtoCap Ltd.
