Dr Valeria Garbin

Biography

Valeria Garbin is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London.

Her research group investigates bubble dynamics in soft and biological matter, using experimental techniques for high-precision measurements on the microscale. The areas of impact of this research include targeted drug delivery to cancer cells, controlled release, and ultrasound medical imaging.

Valeria did a postdoc in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania, and has held a Rubicon Fellowship in the group of Physics of Fluids at the University of Twente.

She has a PhD in Nanotechnology from the Department of Physics of the University of Trieste, and a first degree in Physics from the University of Padova. In 2014 she was awarded an ERC Starting Grant.
