Dr Fiammetta Fedele, PhD

Biography

Fiammetta Fedele is a Medical Physics specialised in both therapeutic and diagnostic Ultrasound. Her main area of expertise in therapeutic ultrasound is shockwaves, matured during her PhD and post-doctoral research activity since 2002. More recently (2015) she has been collaborated on an HIFU research stream with King’s College London, the Institute of Cancer Research and Profound Healthcare.

As part of her research activity she has led and co-ordinated clinical trials and she is now the R&D lead for the Imaging Division of Guy’s and St Thomas NHS Trust. She is also the Trust Physics Lead on ultrasound and supports, among other activities, the translation of new ultrasound equipment into clinical practice.

She is a corresponding member of the IPEM UNIR sig, BSI committee EPL/87 and lists among her collaborators the National Physical Laboratory, the Institute of Cancer Research, King’s College London and Brunel University.
